Our Story
Kayla Jade Ratner has been obsessed with rocks from a young age. Her earliest memories were collecting a variety of species, living in her own world of color, texture, and material. her love for jewelry started early on as well, with fond memories playing in her grandmother’s jewelry box filled with chunky yellow gold pieces from Her days working in the NYC diamond district in the 1980’s.
kayla attended indiana university’s Kelley school of business, where she specialized in digital marketing and fashion. while pursuing her career in corporate retail, she always felt drawn to ultimately blend her passion for science, business, culture, art, fashion & luxury. most importantly, she wanted to make people’s lives better, and be a part of their happiness.
In 2020, she set her sights on the world of gemology. earning her graduate gemology diploma from the gemological Institute of america, she plunged into the harsh realty of today’s diamond district in nYC. Unhappy with the offerings of mass-produced products and unethically sourced gemstones, she knew there had to be a better way, so She launched kayla Jade Jewelry.
